You are welcome to join on Sunday from 10.30am
or you can join us online
We would like to extend a very warm welcome to you as you visit us online. Our Church family is a group of ordinary people whose lives have been changed by an extraordinary person – Jesus Christ. We meet on Sundays, and during the week, to look at the Bible’s message. Why read the Bible? Because it is through the Bible that God speaks. He tells us that the only way we can know him personally is through His Son, Jesus. That is why Jesus died and rose again.
Life Explored
What’s the best gift God could give you? We all want to be happy. Why is lasting happiness so hard to find? Life Explored is a short interactive course that helps people uncover what they are really living for, and to help them see how Jesus Christ, meets our deepest desires for meaning and happiness. It’s for anyone who wants to think about the meaning. It’s run by local people and it is completely free. You don’t need to know anything about the Bible and you won’t be asked to pray or sing. Importantly you can ask any question you like or you can just sit and listen.
We understand it’s not always easy visiting Church for the first time. But we want to make sure your visit is an enjoyable experience – easy, stress free and encouraging. Gathering with God’s people is not about having life all together. Everyone is welcome whatever your history of background. As you arrive at the door, someone will say hello and give you the weekly bulletin along with a Bible and song books. They can also help you with any questions you have. Hope we see you soon.
SHARING JESUS
Christians know and love the good news about Jesus Christ. Jesus’ death and resurrection has changed us and we believe it is worth sharing. If we pause and think, there’s not a friend or family member who’s not yet a Christian that we wouldn’t convert if we could. We want to be a church family for others.
One of the reasons we are keen to share Jesus with others is because God’s grace means anyone can be accepted. We know a boaster thinks there is something good about them. But the gospel teaches us that we all start spiritually dead and far from God. We cannot boast about our lives before God. But wonderfully we can be saved by God’s grace and not by our goodness. And that means anyone can get a fresh start with God by faith in Jesus.
THE BIBLE
We are a Bible based church. We can know God’s gospel because God has given us the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament. In the New Testament we find the witness of the apostles to the life, death, rising and teaching of Jesus. We also find their letters which help us understand what Jesus’ death and resurrection means for us. All the books of the Bible are given to us by God, God breathed. As the Word of God the scriptures enable us to trust Jesus and are active in our lives to teach, rebuke, correct and train us to live godly lives. They are wholly reliable and trustworthy, and all we need to trust and follow Jesus.
LOVE ONE ANOTHER
Just because Christians understand the truth of the gospel it doesn’t automatically make them better people. God didn’t love us because we had our lives together. The truth is we still have much to learn. But one thing we’d like to think is that we are learning to love. Jesus said; “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35 ) A disciple is who we are. Discipleship is what we do. Love for one another in practice means we are increasingly discovering what it looks like to encourage and comfort one another, forbear and forgive. And all this within a Church family that likes to prayer together and share in hospitality. The Christian life is not about being a spectator on Sunday’s but becoming a player in the life of love Jesus is teaching us.
